We’re all guilty of adapting our look and beauty regime to the latest style and trend, but for those of us who went all in on the ’90s and early ’00s trend for super skinny brows, we’re still dealing with the aftermath in an era in which bold, power brows are everything. Overplucking brow hairs for long enough can result in our brows remaining thin and patchy permanently, leaving us with a frustrating daily regime of drawing hairs back in with pencils, gels, powders and a whole host of other beauty products that need to be applied on a daily basis.
There is, however, one new beauty trend that can end our brow woes for good.
Microblading has dramatically grown in popularity over recent years and it can offer incredible results.
Tattooed Brows With a Difference
Microblading is a form of tattooing (
permanent makeup), but don’t let that put you off. Tattooing your face may sound a little extreme, but gone are the days of harsh, blocky brows that have been aggressively filled in with a tattoo gun. Microblading is performed with a hand-held device which has an ultra-fine blade to make extremely thin, hairlike incisions into the skin in order to push pigment into the uppermost layers of tissue. This means that individual hairs can be carefully drawn on to the brow to achieve an incredibly natural look.
Unlike traditional tattoos, microbladed brows are only semi-permanent. The pigment gradually fades over the course of three years and needs a gentle touch-up every six months or so to maintain the look. This means that if (and it’s a worrisome if) super skinny brows were to reemerge in the future as the epitome of brow beauty, you can simply let the pigment fade and adjust your eyebrow style as necessary.
Bye-bye Wonky Brows
It’s not just the inconvenience of brow makeup that makes us frustrated with our thin, patchy brows; it’s the difficulty of never getting it quite right. One brow is inevitably a little thicker or a little longer than the other and as much as we remind ourselves that our brows are sisters, not twins, nothing is more frustrating than the wonky brow look when we’re rushing through our morning makeup routine. If only we had an expert makeup artist on hand every day to help us out… enter the microblading experts.
Microblading artists are expert brow craftspeople. Generally, a microblading session takes up to two hours, with a great deal of that time spent drawing in the brows with a removable pencil to achieve the perfect, symmetrical look. Once the brows are permanently inked, you will wake up with those perfect brows every single day. No more time wasted applying, removing, reapplying, tweaking and smudging brow makeup every day; you can enjoy your expertly crafted brows every morning without the need for make-up artist on hand.
If you love the thought of walking out the door with brows on fleek every single day, microblading is definitely one of the best beauty investments you can make. Get in touch to learn more about the procedure or to arrange a consultation with our very own semi-permanent brow expert.
