What is IPL PhotoFacial?
PhotoFacial is a non-ablative and non-invasive dermatology procedure that rejuvenates your skin using the remarkable new technology of Intense Pulsed Light (IPL). This treatment will decrease (sometimes permanently) freckles and brown spots, discolorations, redness, ruddiness, rosacea, fine lines, and wrinkles, reduce pore size, help uneven skin tone, treat dark circles under the eyes (most effective treatment for this difficult condition), help with broken capillaries, red spots, and a red neck and chest area. The results you get from this procedure are very dependent on the skill and experience of the practitioner.
Those who live in cities with a high UV index like Austin are at an even greater risk for premature skin aging, especially if proper precautions aren’t taken to protect the skin from damaging UV rays. Unfortunately, by the time most of us start thinking about skin aging and instituting a proper skincare regime, it’s too late. A large majority of the sun damage our skin endures occurs before the age of 18. Remember all those childhood sunburns and peeling shoulders? Your skin certainly does. The good news is that our knowledge on how to not only protect skin from further damage but to begin reversing it has increased tremendously over recent years. Once individuals have implemented a preventative skincare regimen that makes use of sunscreen and topical antioxidants, they may then want to focus on correcting existing problems like hyper-pigmentation, uneven tone, rough skin texture, fine lines and wrinkles, and so on.
One such treatment that we use to remedy these issues is an advanced technology known as IPL (Intense Pulse Light). Our Austin IPL treatments use high-intensity pulses of light to enhance the tone and texture of sun-damaged or blemished skin. Unlike lasers that deliver only one wavelength, IPL systems deliver multiple wavelengths, allowing them to target several conditions with each treatment.
Our Austin IPL laser treatments can be used to address a range of aging-related issues including the following:
- Brown spots
- Age spots
- Broken capillaries
- Rosacea
- Flushing
- Sun damage
- Redness
- Mild skin texture issues
- Sun-induced freckles
- Spider veins
